Our mission is to support and foster Catholic education in the Jesuit tradition; to enable the Schools and Colleges in the Irish Province to be centres of excellence and communities of faith committed to justice.
Our team
The personnel in the Education Office include the Education Delegate, Mr Brian Flannery, and the Assistant Delegate, Fr Bruce Bradley SJ, and Ms Ruth Douglas, administrator.
Brian Flannery
Brian Flannery is the Delegate for Education and Youth in the Irish Province. He was formerly a teacher of English, Religious Education and Mathematics. Brian also served as a Pastoral coordinator (1994-1998) in Belvedere College and had previously been principal of the Preparatory School (1990 -1994). Brian worked for a number of years with the Irish Christian Brothers before re-joining the Jesuit network in Ireland. He has been Delegate for Education & Youth since 2005.
Bruce Bradley SJ
Bruce Bradley SJ is the Assistant Delegate for Education. He has been on the staffs of both Belvedere and Clongowes in a variety of capacities, including headmaster, over several decades and is currently editor of the Jesuit Quarterly Studies. He assists the Delegate at gatherings of the education sector.
Ruth Douglas
Ruth Douglas is the Administrative Assistant to the Delegate. She previously worked as part of the Client Services Team in Sherry FitzGerald, the Sales team with Arthur Price of England and was eighteen years with IDA Ireland, latterly as PA to the Chief Executive.
